Like most of Cirque du Soleil’s shows, KOOZA is meant to entertain the whole family. That being said, it does contain loud noises and some dark scenes.
Fun Facts about KOOZA
– KOOZA premiered in April 2007 in Montréal and is Cirque du Soleil’s 20th original touring production since its creation in 1984.
– The name KOOZA comes from the Sanskrit word “koza,” meaning “box” or “treasure,” symbolising the concept of a “circus in a box.”
– The show features an international cast of 56 artists from 19 different nationalities, including six live musicians and two singers performing at every show.
– KOOZA Big Top seats 2,500 people, stands 56 feet high and spans 164 feet in diameter.
– It takes seven days to set up and three days to dismantle the site, which covers 17,000 square metres (4.2 acres).
– There are more than 175 costumes and 160 hats featured in ˆ, over 1,200 handcrafted costume pieces designed in Cirque du Soleil’s Montréal workshop.
– One army costume includes 400 individually sewn metallic flaps to create the illusion of armour.
– KOOZA travels with a touring team of more than 120 people, supported by two performance medicine specialists and a full kitchen serving two meals a day to 200 cast, crew and staff.
– The show’s soundtrack blends 1970s funk, orchestral arrangements and traditional Indian music, all performed live each night.
– KOOZA is the 11th Big Top show to visit Australia in 26 years.
